Essentials is fast, unobtrusive and easy to use shortcuts pad and application launcher. Just press the hotkey (the default is Control + Space, but this can be customized in preferences) and Essentials will appear where ever your mouse cursor is.
Essentials isn't just for apps: you can add files, folders, colors, text and image clippings, PDFs, terminal commands, URL addresses and more. You can organize your items into groups, and have all your essential data right under your fingertips.
Joshua Johnson from mac.appstorm.net says: “Essentials is a really handy app that could conceivably change the way you use OS X and speed up your workflow in a number of ways….If you’re looking for an affordable way to dramatically increase the speed at which you can access files, folders, text snippets, URLs or even colors, Essentials is definitely a great place to start.”

Almost pressed 'purchase'. Read the reviews. Similar to a launcher. Maybe next time.

On:June 26, 2012Unlike a plain app launcher, Essentials lets you add all kinds of stuff, like color swatches, text, images, and of course apps. It's pretty neat, and worth $2, IMO.

On:June 26, 2012I didn't really think I needed a new launcher but honestly, for $2 i thought I would give it a shot AND support a great developer. I'm glad I did.

On:June 26, 2012I got this app a while back and Love using it! It helps make moving files to hard-to navigate places (deep in my network drive, for instance) a breeze! Haven't used it for much else other than a way to keep track of aliased folders, but I've already gotten more than $2 worth of use out of it :]
